Earth Hour 2013

Hi everyone,

How many of you observed Earth Hour yesterday?

My family and I observed Earth hour yesterday by spending quality time together. After we had our dinner at home, we switched off everything at home (except for the fridge of course!). That was about 8.20 p.m. Then, we went to the nearby park to take a walk. While we were walking, we talked about different things like what are our plans for the following week, what shall we do during the Good Friday holiday and the June break. We did not even realise when it was 10 p.m.! We went home feeling proud that we had supported the Earth Hour move! :)

What about you? Leave some comments on this page about what you did yesterday to commemorate (or celebrate) Earth Hour or what would you do next year if you didn't do anything this year?

Find out more about Earth Hour in Singapore at this website: http://earthhour.wwf.sg/. Scroll to the bottom of the website and you will find the different places where the Earth Hour roadshows are being held. Visit the roadshows to find out more about how you can reduce energy consumption.

Don't forget to bring to school you killer litter composition (hope you were not doing this yesterday during the Earth Hour!), mock papers and exam papers!

Take care and see you tomorrow!

Killer Litter Composition

Hi everyone!!

I hope you are enjoying your March holidays. Don't forget that you should be doing your revision at the same time so that you will remember what has been taught in Term 1.

As promised, here are some resources that you can use for the killer litter composition:

1) Read these articles to get an idea of why would someone throw litter from a great height and what were the punishments meted out to them:

2) These articles indicate the penalties for those who were charged for killer litter.

3) Guidelines for keeping things safely:

4) Examples of composition on killer litter (Use it to get some ideas. I should not be seeing a similar composition from your side.)

That's all from me 5F! Remember to complete what work you have during this March holidays:
a) Killer Litter composition
b) E-learning assignments
c) Any other homework from your Mother Tongue and Science teachers.

Enjoy the holidays!

Meet-the-parents session

Dear parent/guardian,

Please take a look at the schedule for the meet-the-parents session tomorrow. Please be reminded that to be there punctually (preferably 5 minute before your session). This is so that everyone is able to maximize the time allocated.

If you would like to talk to the mother tongue teachers, they will be stationed in the hall.

Mr Jonathan, their Science teacher, will be with his form class tomorrow. He will be available from 10.45a.m. to 12.00p.m. (class schedule on 6D's blog). You can choose to drop him a call instead and he will return your call.

Thanks.

Ms Reena

Answer Key

Hi everyone,

As promised, I am uploading some of the answers to the English and Maths Mock papers that you have done. Look at the way each question has been answered or solved. If you have a different answer or solution to the question, let me know about it tomorrow. I will see if it is acceptable. I will go through some of the questions tomorrow.

Remember that it is your responsibility to do your best in the paper before taking a look at the answer sheet. Learning is in your hand. Complete the paper before looking at the answer.

I will be in school till 4pm on Monday and  6pm on Tuesday. Please consult me if you have any questions.
